Break in the gondola reaches 11.16% in March

Reached 11.16% the level of disruption in the gondolas of the supermarkets of the country in March, a slight increase in comparison with the previous month, according to research by Agentrics. The survey done in more than 2000 stores throughout Brazil in the month of April-also demonstrates the rupture in different sectors within the food: food (self-service 11.62%), hygiene and beauty (10.92%), beverages (9.71%), cleaning (8.94%) and others (13.63%).
According to Robson Munhoz, Director of retail consultancy relationship, the fear of the supermarket to buy products and not sell it since the purchasing power of the Brazilian''s slowing down-can be one of the reasons. Another point, he said, is the fact that the industry be more pessimistic than the retail. The note was found in research conducted by the CNI (Confederação Nacional da Indústria), which indicated that 38% of industry stood in January.
The Director of NeoGrid points out that, in recent months, the industrial sector had several tax increases and energy. Consequently, there was the need to pass on part of these adjustments to the products. To try and avoid them, retail takes longer to negotiate. "So, some items and brands end up missing any longer on the shelves," explained Munhoz.
