Balance of trade: volume of condensed milk exported high expressive features

Dairy trade balance had a deficit of 1,538 metric tons in February, 73% less than that presented in the previous month. In figures, the deficit of the balance of recorded 78.5% drop dairy with respect to January, but continues with negative balance of $ 2.46 million. Exports showed high, both in volume and in value. In February, have been exported $ $19,34 million worth of dairy products, an increase of 96% compared to December. The largest volume of exports was the condensed milk, which increased from 777 to 2,821 tons, a figure nearly four times greater than the registered in January. The main destinations of condensed milk were Saudi Arabia (fate of 43.2% of the total exported) and the United Arab Emirates (17.8%). Another product that presented high exports in February was the full milk powder, which was discharged from 85% of exports. The main buyer was the Venezuela, fate of practically all the milk powder exported (99.7%). Imports had 6.6% drop in volume. The products that had a higher reduction in the volume imported were the skimmed-milk powder ( -55.9%) and whey ( -27.2%). On the other hand, there was an increase of 11.8% in the volume imported from full milk powder, 17.2% of butter and 22.9% in cheeses. The main suppliers of milk powder (both integral as skimmed milk) were Argentina (56.1%) and Uruguay (35.8%). Analyzing the quantities in milk equivalent (the quantity of milk used for the manufacture of each product), the quantity imported was 55.7 million pounds in February, down 12.9% compared to January. In contrast, exports in February doubled, registering high of 108.7% compared to the previous month. The accumulated balance of the first two months of the year, the deficit of the trade balance in dairy milk equivalent is 63.4 million liters. 36.1% to the volume registered in the same period last year, which had been of 99.2 million liters
