Owens Illinois takes the production of 500 ml bottles of beer garden Owl

Owens Illinois (O-I), the largest manufacturer of glass containers in the world, now produces all the 500 ml bottles of beer. The partnership started in 2014, when the brand has chosen the-I to develop a line of exclusive bottles in celebration of its 10 years.
500 ml packages correspond to approximately 50% of the sales volume of the brewery, which has 10 labels in this volume and two in litre returnable. "The new bottles made it possible to present the OWL to other States with their true concept of beer special, reinforcing identity and visual language, plus facilitate distribution for large networks, like Zaffari, Angeloni, probe, St Marche, Eataly, South Zone, fresh produce and bread of sugar," says Rafael Rodrigues, founding partner of Owl Brewery.
The unique bottle model produced by O-I has special decoration with embossing. "The OWL was one of the first microbreweries that Owens Illinois answered in Brazil. We are very happy to be part of this process of growth of the company and we want to, together, go further, "says the Manager of Marketing and innovation of the O-I, Daniel Amaral.
The Owl''s portfolio is divided into three "species", the Cheers, and Migratory. The Cheers are unpasteurised beers, composed by Viva (Lager, 4.5%) and Extra-Alive (Lager, 6.5%). The first Migratory beers pasteurized, among which are the Otus (Lager, 4.5%), Strix (extra Lager, 6.5%), Alba (Weizenbier, 5.5%) and the Noctua (Dark Lager, 7.2%); in this class are also the flying boats – Otus Hop (Lager, 4.9%), Strix IPL (6.6%), Lager and Alba Weizenbock (Weizenbock, 6.5%). The latest Owl creations are, in partnership with artistic movement, and called off the charts: Baca (Amber Leger, 5.5%, with pitanga), Blaze (Kellerbier, 6.7%, with pepper) and Kick (Tribock, 11.5%, with cinnamon).
The brewery was established in 2004, in Rio Grande do Sul, and in 2010 the production was transferred to the city of Forquilhinha (State of Santa Catarina), where they are produced around of 90 1000 liters monthly, by the Brewery. Currently, the OWL is marketed in the States of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais. In the seven States in which it is present, the OWL of about 1,200 points of sale outside the major networks. According to Rafael Rodrigues, the beer is also sold eventually in the Northeast and some sites do sell online for individuals from other States.
