BRF studies offer for Banvit of Turkey, say sources

The BRF evaluates offer for Turkish chicken producer Banvit as part of its process of expanding Muslim markets, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Banvit is working with the local bank Yapi Kredi in search for potential buyers, reported people who requested confidentiality because the information is private.
The Banvit also talked with other potential buyers in addition to the BRF, according to one of the people heard. No agreement has been signed so far, and it is unclear if the talks continue, people said.
Omer Gorener, President of Banvit, and representatives of the Yapi Kredi Bank and BRF preferred not to comment.
The company reported on Thursday that was in continuous negotiations with potential investors, which had announced in March, and that there were no advances to disclose.
The BRF is working with Morgan Stanley and Bank of America on IPO of Sound subsidiary Halal, second in September said people familiar with the matter.
