Same store sales at Walmart Brazil grow 8.1% in 3Q

SÃO PAULO-Walmart''s sales in Brazil in the same store concept 8,1% grew in the third quarter compared to the same period last year, in nominal terms, with the giant retailer noting that Sam''s formats and atacarejo showed double-digit growth in sales.
The U.S. company also showed 0,5% growth in traffic and the average value of purchases increased 7,6% in Brazil, according to the Group''s results released on Thursday.
Net sales in the country increased by 3,1% in nominal terms. Already operating profit and gross margin have retreated, but the company gave no details.
Walmart also pointed out that stocks in operation in Brazil grew at a slower rate than sales.
