Retraction in the fertilizer market

The supply of fertilizers to the final consumer in Brazil totaled 1.39 million tons in April, falling 20.9 percent compared with the same month of 2014, indicated the survey National Association for diffusion of fertilizers (come on). In the first quarter, there were 8.7% indentation, to 6.98 million tons. The total amount of nutrients (NPK, acronym for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) delivered from January to April reached 2.94 million tons, 11.8% below the same range of 2014. Mato Grosso concentrated deliveries, with 1.29 million tonnes, followed by Paraná (1.02 million) and São Paulo (908 thousand). Domestic production, in turn, recorded a decrease of 5.3% in April, to 700.73 thousand tons. However, year to date, there have been 8.4% rise, to 2.91 million tons. Imports still meet the bulk of the domestic demand, but continued to lose strength. Last month, the fall in relation to April 2014 was 27.5%, to 1.4 million tons. In the first four months of the year, the reduction amounted to 24.2%, to 5.3 million.
