New bike lanes increase bike sales in 30%

The creation of new bike lanes coming warming up the bicycle market. According to the newspaper "Valor Econômico", small and medium-sized suppliers estimate that the volume of deliveries has increased 30% in 2014 compared to 2013. To meet the purchase orders, entrepreneurs have amplified the headcount of the factories in 20% and increased the number of dealers in 45%.
A survey by the newspaper "Folha de s. Paulo" shows that, until 2016, the Brazil must have 3.1 thousand kilometers of bike lanes, of which 1.4 thousand kilometers will still be created.
According to the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of motorcycles, Scooters, mopeds, bicycles and similar (Abraciclo), the market grew particularly in models with higher added value, that match the bikes for recreation, sport and urban mobility. These segments accounted for 40.6% in 2013. It is estimated that Brazil has more than 70 million bicycles.
