Beer sector already represents 13% of the São Paulo industry

The beer sector represents 13% of the São Paulo industry, according to a survey done by the beverage maker Ambev with data from the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE) and the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). The survey highlights that the sector employs 638 000 people directly and indirectly in the State of São Paulo in Brazil. In all, the production of beer represents 14% of the national industry and employs nearly 2.3 million people across the country.
