News Cade approves partnership between Bayer and Agrium

Through its oversight, the Administrative Council for economic Defense (CADE) approved the Bayer partnership and, through its Brazilian subsidiary Agrium Utilfértil. The contract, signed in December 2014, predicts that the affiliates will make the distribution of German multinational products throughout the national territory.
The partnership involves the marketing of pesticides for various crops, including cotton, rice, oats, potatoes, coffee, sugar cane, rye, barley, citrus fruits, beans, fruits, fruits and vegetables, soybeans, corn and wheat. The agreement is estimated to 120 months, with an extension clause.
In the release of the agreement, published in the "Official Gazette", Cade justifies the size of market share of subsidiary of Agrium does not cause horizontal overlay. According to the order, "the activities of Utilfértil little alter the shares currently owned by Bayer".
