Award winning, design Recycle EPS already recycled more than 25 thousand tonnes

With the program Recycle EPS: Reverse Logistics to new products, the Termotécnica won the Prêmio Expressão de Ecologia, which is in its 22nd Edition. Among the 119 registered environmental initiatives, 24 were awarded and the Termotécnica had featured in the category "recycling-Plastic Industry Sector".
The Termotécnica developed in 2007 – and come since then – the program expanding Recycle EPS, that contemplates from the collection of this material, popularly known as styrofoam ®, until your recycling and reintroduction on the market already meet the guidelines of the PNRS (national solid waste policy). Also features educational activities such as the distribution of booklets and lectures for students.
The program currently has a network of more than 1,100 collection points and more than 370 cooperatives throughout Brazil, involving five thousand families. The Termotécnica already recycled more than 25 thousand tons of EPS, corresponding to 30% of the packaging market of this material in the country and launched the www.reciclareps.com.br portal where any person or undertaking in all Brazil can find the nearest recycling and collection. With these initiatives, sustainability has gained relevance and came to be regarded as a strategic objective in the company's business model.
Certified by Ministry of environment as the largest environmental award from southern Brazil, the Prêmio Expressão de Ecologia has the support of the Chico Mendes Institute for biodiversity conservation (ICMBio) and the three environmental agencies of the public – SEMA/IAP (PR), FATMA (SC) and FEPAM (RS).
Organizations receive the Green Wave Trophy during the Sustainable Management Forum 2015, which will be held on August 14 at the headquarters of Federação das Indústrias do Estado de Santa Catarina – CHINA QA, in Florianópolis.
