Production of motorcycles fall 12.1 percent in October compared to September

The production of motorcycles fell 12.1% in October compared with September, to 104,388 units, the Brazilian Association of manufacturers of motorcycles, Mopeds, Scooters, and Bicycles (Abraciclo). In comparison with October last year, the fall was 27.8%, while in the year retraction is 13.2%, to 1,137,103 units.
Already the wholesale sales (for dealers) retreated 12.6% in October on a monthly comparison, to 91205 units. The annual variation, there was no retraction of 29.4%. Year to date, the lower reaches 12.2%, to 1,050,282 bikes sold. In retail, October recorded sales fall 89020 9.3% compared with September and 26% indentation front of October last year. During the first 10 months of the year, sales totaled 1,036,416 units, down 12.9%.
"The layoffs in factories, located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, in addition to the uncertainties of the present national macroeconomic context at the beginning of the second half, including inflation, growth, employment and low risk credit offer for the acquisition of vehicles, are the main factors impacting to this scenario in the industry," says in a statement the President of Abraciclo, Fermanian Landmarks.
Exports showed a high of 12.5 percent in October compared with September, to 10959 units, with elevation of 54.2% October 2014. From January to October were exported 56881 motorcycles, 27.7% below the volume recorded in the same period in 2014.
