Barry Callebaut cocoa company purchase of Ghana

Barry Callebaut Switzerland company, largest processor of cocoa and chocolate of high quality in the world, hit the Nyonkopa company purchase Cocoa Buying Company Limited, of Ghana, which acquires the local producers and almond sells to the State Council of the sector in the country, the Cocobod. The Council acquires the product according to criteria of quality and sales.
In a statement, the company said that Switzerland Nyonkopa is one of the ten largest companies licensed to negotiate domestic cocoa from Ghana. The company went into operation in 2013/14 and already has a network of suppliers with 10 thousand cocoa producers in 34 districts of the main producing regions of the country. The Ghanaian company also has 100 employees and 600 employees.
"The Nyonkopa will give us access to thousands of Ghanaian producers and will allow us to directly supply them and provide agricultural services," said the CEO of Barry Callebaut, Antoine de Saint-Affrique.
