Potable and mineral waters of table will have the Inmetro seal

Inmetro has just published the Portaria 307/2014, establishing the conformity assessment Requirements to natural mineral waters and drinkable potted table, marketed in glass returnable and disposable packaging. The goal is to establish the criteria for voluntary certification, with a focus on food security, to help the consumer to have more important information at the time of purchase.
To obtain the seal of conformity Identification, mineral and drinking waters of potted table will have to be approved in a series of tests performed in laboratories accredited by Inmetro, including since the inspection of the label and packaging cover, until the determination of the chemical and microbiological characteristics. The certification process also includes audits on the company responsible for bottling of water, which will assess requirements of good manufacturing practices and compliance with current legislation.

Certification is voluntary and based on regulations of the national agency of sanitary surveillance (Anvisa) and the National Department of Mineral production (DNPM) of the Ministry of mines and energy. Therefore, not all brands have the seal, but the consumer will be a criterion to decide safely to your purchase in formal establishments.
