The youngest Rodobens invests r $ 150 million

With less than three years of life, the Leasing and Lease Rodobens will become, until 2015, one of the main generators of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) in the group, which has 60 years, says General Director of this Division, Renato Augusto Vaz. According to him, the unit will apply this year about $ 150 million in investments, with the purchase of trucks and commercial vehicles, raising the $ 400 million the total contributions made since 2010.
"We are growing at 35% per year. Today we are the third group unit in Ebitda. In 2015 we will be the largest for this criterion, "said Vaz, noting that on this list aren't Rodobens Engineering, publicly traded or the Bank. The Leasing and Lease Rodobens was created almost three years to explore in Brazil the operational leasing of vehicles, with a focus on light commercial fleet segment, heavy and utilities.
The operational leasing is a financial contract, governed by rules of the Central Bank. For him, Rodobens acquires a active, if the truck, which is then leased to client-an enterprise. At the end of the contract the lessee elects to renew the operation or return the asset to the lessor.
"The crisis has helped us grow," says the Managing Director of Leasing and Lease Rodobens. "The leasing represents immediate cash generation because to opt for leasing, the company may sell the company's own fleet. And expenses that she is on a monthly basis with the contract reduce tax payments by reducing the last line of the balance sheet ".
The Executive admits that the operational leasing still faces a big hurdle. "The Brazilian is still afraid to have an asset that is not his property," said Vaz. This explains the low penetration of this type of operation, only 0.69% of the total leasing portfolio in the country, which reached r $ 31.1 billion last June.
The Leasing and Lease Rodobens has today a fleet of 4 thousand vehicles, being 1.2 thousand trucks, most of Mercedes-Benz brand, serving a 180 portfolio companies customers.
"The 18 largest customers account for 80% of our revenue," says Valenzuela, citing how corporations satisfied the bottler of soft drinks from the Coca-Cola Company, Solar, in Pernambuco, the sugar and alcohol producer, Louis Dreyfus Company in São Paulo, and the bread maker Bimbo.
The main source of funds for the investments of the company is the Bank financing with credit lines specific to the acquisition of machinery and heavy equipment, notably through the BNDES (FINAME lines/PSI), with average interest rate of 3.0%. "We seek always marry the capture period with the contracts that we close to leave the balanced," said Renato Valenzuela.
Rodobens's plan is to expand Leasing and Leasing contracts with existing customers and seek new contracts in construction and mining, food and beverages, besides the sugar-alcohol sector. "We're not going to get into the individual segment and ride vehicles because it is not our expertise," said the Director.
He said companies like Finds, Locamerica and United have networks of shops for resale. "And this depends crucially resale business. Already in trucks, nobody has a network like Rodobens, of 32 stores. That's why we have efficiency, "says Valerie.
The Executive says that low penetration of carriers operating leasing in Brazil doesn't mean less competition. He cites the case of video store in Green Gold paranaense 30 June had a fleet of 6 thousand machines and heavy equipment and 17 thousand light vehicles, with an aggregate market value of about $ 1.1 billion.
Vehicles leasing market, formed by rental revenues, 2,217 total sectors in 2012 was r $ 6.23 billion, 9.88% in 2011. For 2013, the President of the National Council of the Brazilian Association of car rental companies (Abla), Paul Gaba Jr., designs an expansion of 10%, in line with the average annual growth rate of the sector in the last decade.
