Sales of GM, Toyota and Ford in the us return to 2007 levels

NEW YORK-General Motors, Toyota and Ford released this Wednesday vehicle sales results in August that beat market estimates, and design last month as the best for the American automotive industry demand in six years.

Vehicle sales in August increased by 15% for GM (275,847 vehicles), 20% for Toyota (231,537) and 12% for Ford (213,078). The average of estimates from analysts consulted by Bloomberg pointed more modest numbers: GM with 11%, Toyota, 15%, and Ford, 10%.
The strategies of American automakers, such as GM, Ford and Chrysler, have included the closing of unneeded factories and development of better and more attractive vehicles, which led the prices paid for new models at high records. The industry is healthier today than six years ago, last time the sector has sold so many automobiles and utilities as last month.
