Production fell 9.2 percent in the year, to 1.1 million units, according to Abraciclo

Wholesale sales already reached 129 thousand units in August, 8.2% reduction compared to the same period last year. The accumulated from January to August, the plates issued totaled 1.01 million units, volume 10.3% lower than the same period in 2012, when they were emplacadas 1.12 million motorcycles.
"If there is a change in this situation, the automakers will face difficulties until the end of the year," emphasizes Fermanian. However, the Commission points out that the second half of the year usually brings more encouraging numbers.
"Historically, the second half usually rely on business more heated, especially this year, when some attractions may stimulate the sector, such as the launch of new models, marketing campaigns and the realization of the two wheels (next month), in Sao Paulo," he says.
Exports despite the successive falls of the domestic market of motorcycles, the export performance of August showed that the business sector is continuing to recover. Last month, were exported 13.9 thousand units, up 7.4% compared to the previous year. Compared to July, there was growth of 45.7%.
The total number of motorcycles exported from January to August reached 68.4 thousand units, only 0.6% higher than the volume registered in the same period in 2012, when external sales reached 68 million motorcycles.
