In NECTARS juice content of grape and Orange will reach 50% in 2016

The Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento published on 12 September in the Diário Oficial da União normative statement which provides the increased scale of fruit juice content in grape and orange nectar. Currently 30%, the minimum quantity should be 40% from January 2015 and 50% from January 2016.
In August last year, the Ministry of agriculture came to publish another normative, providing for the mandatory addition of 50% fruit juice for the grape nectar within a period of 180 days. According to the Director of the Department of inspection of products of plant origin, Ricardo Cavalcanti, the decision to revise the term was taken after industry representatives claim that the adoption of the measure on such short notice the damage.
"(The increased content of fruit juice) was an appeal of the producers, who were needed to sell more. But for the folks that renders it manufactures would involve a cost of production increased. Would create a problem for the rest of the production chain. We did a public hearing with them, consumer defense organizations, ANVISA (national health surveillance Agency). Everyone has been heard and we have come to the new normative instruction, "said Chandra.
According to international standards, the juice is the pure product obtained from the fresh fruit extraction. The nectar might have extra water, sugars, acids and other additives to correct the taste. According to Ricardo Cavalcanti, with increased content of juice, the consumer will have access to a more nutritious product. "Under nutritional aspects, will be a much richer product", pointed out.
