Coca-Cola Japan launches the first carbonated drink to be drunk hot. The Canada Dry soda Hot Ginger Ale is the result of four years of research. The drink is available in four flavors. The can has a self-heating system which avoids the loss of gas from the drink.
The sale of hot beverages such as teas, coffees and soups in cans with self-heating is very popular during the winter months in Japan. However, this is the first time the heat is combined with bubbles, inaugurating a new effervescent hot beverage market and in the country. In November, the Kirin also will enter this market with the launch of a hot drink Apple soda.
