Volkswagen sees stability in operating profit in the second half

The German automaker Volkswagen expects an operating profit in the second half in line with the results seen in the first half of the year, said the financial Vice President Hans Dieter Poetsch.
' Remains challenging to produce some results as was in the first half, said on Wednesday during results conference call. ' But we believe that we will continue to have a performance in that direction '.
The Europe's biggest carmaker said on Tuesday that operating profit for the first half totaled 5.78 billion euros (about 17.4 billion), a fall of 11.6% compared with a year ago. Volkswagen maintained the goal of achieving operating profit registered last year to 11.5 billion euros. (Reuters)
