Packaging industry produces 2.66% more on 1st semester

SAO PAULO-the Brazilian packaging industry production closed the first half with high of 2.66% compared to same period in 2012, according to a survey of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) made at the request of the Brazilian Packaging Association (Abre). The result was driven by the expansion of 4.81% recorded in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the index rose just 0.56 percent.
For the second half of the year, the projected numbers are more discreet, since the basis for comparison in the second half of 2012 is more expressive. The Brazilian production of packaging should grow 1 percent.
In this way, the result designed for accumulated 2013 points high of approximately 2% on 2012, similar to estimates presented last February by the Coordinator of economic analyses of the Brazilian Institute of Economics from FGV and the study, Solomon paintings. In this occasion, Frames had designed expansion of approximately 2.5% in the first half and up to 1.5% in the second half.
The material also highlights that industry revenue, measured by the value of the physical production of packaging, will aggregate $ 50.4 billion. The amount represents an expansion of 7.9 percent compared to revenue of $ 46.7 billion last year.
