Packaging industry produces 2.66% more on 1st semester

SAO PAULO-the Brazilian packaging industry production closed the first half with high of 2.66% compared to same period in 2012, according to a survey of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) made at the request of the Brazilian Packaging Association (Abre). The result was driven by the expansion of 4.81% recorded in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the index rose just 0.56 percent.

The material also highlights that industry revenue, measured by the value of the physical production of packaging, will aggregate $ 50.4 billion. The amount represents an expansion of 7.9 percent compared to revenue of $ 46.7 billion last year.
