Milk prices remain high in the country

Scot Consulting survey shows that producers received an average of $ 0,958 by liter of milk (refers to the product delivered in June). The value is 2.8% higher than the previous month and 20% larger than July 2012, according to Rafael Ribeiro, an analyst at Scot. In the States surveyed by the Cepea/Esalq, the average gross price paid to producers reached r $ 1,0544, the highest level since September 2007 in real terms.
The Scot is forecast that the average price of milk to the producer must reach a peak between R $ 0.96 and $ 0.97 per litre in August payment. The expected peak earlier, of R $ 0.95, has already been reached. According to Ribeiro, the capture of milk dropped by June in the country, but already there has been recovery in July in the South. The production also begins to increase in São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás.
Still that is returning to grow, the fact is that the capture of milk in the country fell for seven months, from September 2012 to March of this year, according to data of IBGE. In the last quarter of 2012, the capture fell 1.6% as compared to the same range of 2011, to 7.579 billion liters. In the first quarter of this year, were 5.685 billion liters, down 1.4% on the same period in 2012.
The analyst notes that production costs are falling at a time of high raw material. The scenario stimulates short-term investments, such as in the feeding of the flock. Ribeiro recalls that in July 2012 and corn bran, used in dairy herd ration, had much higher prices.
The long life also follows up on wholesale and retail, as the Scot, which shows that dairy products have passed the high raw material. However, according to Ribeiro, retailers have reduced margins, so that final demand is not affected. In July of this year, according to the Scot, the average price of wholesale long life paulista was R $ 2.43 per liter and in retail, for $ 2.77. The margin is almost 14%. In July last year, the wholesale value was r $ 1.81 and in retail, r $ 2.30-27% margin.
