Gerdau net income R $ 401 mi sum in 2nd quarter

SÃO PAULO-Gerdau net income in the second quarter of the year totaled r $ 401 million, down 27% from the same period last year. In comparison with the first quarter of the year there was an increase of 150.6%, according to the company, there is little.
Already the cash Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) totaled r $ 1,196 billion, down 3.9% compared to the second quarter of 2012. Compared with the first three months of this year there was an increase of 48.6%.
The Ebitda margin was 12.1%, down 0.4 percentage point over the same period last year. In comparison with the first quarter of the year, however, there was an increase of 3.3 percentage points.
NET, in turn, was R $ 9,882 billion in the April to June period, 0.9% decline compared with the second quarter of 2012 and an increase of 7.8% compared to the immediately preceding quarter.
Above the expectation
Gerdau net income for the second quarter of the year, from $ 401 million, 30% above the average expectation of four houses consulted by Broadcast (Goldman Sachs, Citi, Itaú BBA, BTG Pactual), which provided R $ 308.5 million gains in the period.
The Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) presented earlier, $ 1,196 billion, was also above the average of the projections (of five houses, considering also the estimate of JPMorgan). The amount came 7.3% higher than the R $ 1,115 billion forecast.
NET, in turn, came in line with the average of the predictions. Gerdau has an income of $ 9,882 billion in the second quarter of the year, compared to the estimated figure $ 10.03 billion, also considering the average of projections of five financial institutions.
The Broadcast is of the opinion that the result is in line with the projections when the change up or down is up 5%.
