Volkswagen Brazil: GDP will stimulate investment

The President of Volkswagen Brazil, Thomas Schmall, assessed on Tuesday with skepticism the Brazilian market performance vehicles, which had record sales in the first quarter of 2013 to grow 8.7% before 2012. ' We need to wait for the next few weeks to have a clearer view of the market, ' said. ' But the GDP (gross domestic Product) will grow and stimulate investment, he said.
Schmall followed the visit of the President of Germany, Joachim Gauck, the automaker's unit in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), the first built outside of that country. Unlike the forecasts of the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea), pointing to a high of up to 4.5% in 2013 sales about 2012, the President of Volkswagen Brazil estimates a market growth of 2% to 4% this year on 2012.
Schmall said that still had a meeting on Friday, 10, with the Minister of development, industry and foreign trade, Fernando Pimentel, but that was only because discussions on the automotive sector. He avoided even to say what will be the next releases of the automaker in the country and joked, when asked about the arrival of the compact up! to Brazil. ' The up! will come to Brazil? I am not knowing. '
Gauck already met the Assembly line, the Centre for vocational training and social projects carried out by Volkswagen in the drive. On a quick pronouncement, he gave kudos to the company, completing 60 years in Brazil, by setting up a German business culture in the country with the ability to generate business even with the difficult situation of the economy '.
Gauck cited the automaker's concern with the ' social engagement ' and ' human solidarity '. During the visit, the President of Germany showed relaxing while sitting next to children of the choir of the Us for photos and also played with a soccer ball that won the Youth Project the right to play. The agenda of Gauck, started on Monday, 13, in São Paulo, with a meeting with President Dilma Rousseff, also provides a visit to Rio.
