Bematech 20% more profit in Q1

The net profit of Bematech, business automation services company, increased 20% in the first quarter, to $ 7.2 million, compared to the same period last year. Revenue advanced 9.6 percent, to $ 77.8 million. "It's our sixth quarter of consecutive growth, which shows that the strategy is being executed," said Helen Matthews, Chief Executive of Bematech, value. The Executive took the helm with the aim to restructure the business. The main focus was to position the Bematech as a seller of integrated offers of equipment, software and services for retailers, not just fiscal printers.
Of its three business areas-software, equipment and services-, Bematech presented greater revenue in two: equipment (4.6%), for R $ 46,52 million, and software (38.6%), for R $ at 24.03 million. According to Matthews, the fastest advance in software is related to the incorporation of the results of CMNet. Bematech already held the control of the company, but only completed the acquisition of the remainder of the capital (49%) last year. In services, Bematech presented a revenue drop of 20.9%, to R $ 7.25 million. Matt says this was a result of the closure of some contracts and lines of business to greater profitability of the operation. In the first quarter of 2013, the gross margin was 23.9% services, compared with 17.5% a year earlier.
In addition to the high sales, the profit was driven by the control of spending in the first quarter. Expenditure had fallen 1.1%, for $ 22 million. In relation to revenue, were at a plateau of 28.4%, against 31.5% recorded in the first quarter of 2012.
