STOCKHOLM, 18 Dec – the second largest carmaker, Volvo trucks in the world, said on Wednesday that sales of its trucks grew by 16 percent compared to the previous year in November pulled by a strong demand in Europe.
Volvo, which sells trucks under the Renault, Mack and UD Trucks, in addition to its own brand, said that sales in its main market, Europe, had jumped 22 percent, while grew 19 percent in North America.
The company reiterated that the first-quarter production rates in Europe will be adjusted to reflect a lower demand, a consequence of consumers have bought trucks in anticipation of tougher regulations on emissions that come into force at the turn of the year.
Sales in November rose 29 percent in South America, but fell one percent in Asia.
