Itaipava factory opened in alagoinhas generates 3,600 jobs

The first factory for the production of beer of Grupo Petrópolis Itaipava, in the northeastern region, was inaugurated on Friday (22), Alagoinhas, being responsible for the generation of 3,600 jobs. The city was chosen by the strategic location and quality of water, one of the best in the world. The town is also headquarters of the Brazil brewery and Kirin units factory of soft drinks and beverages Industries São Miguel.
During the ceremony, the Governor Jaques Wagner pointed out the importance of the project, made possible as a result of State tax incentives. "The installation of Itaipava consolidates Alagoinhas Brewer pole as an important employment generator and remunerated occupation". Also present were the Mayor of Alagoinhas, Paulo Cezar Simões, President of Grupo Petrópolis, Walter would do, and the former President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Lula said that the industry represents more jobs of quality in production, administration, provision of services and suppliers. Technological innovation the first factory production tests began in August. "This plant has capacity to expand production to 900 million litres of beer, which will depend on the growth of demand. But, with this expansion, we will expand the generation in at least 50% ", said the Director of the market Grupo Petrópolis, Douglas Costa.
The new factory works with technological innovation within the international environmental standards that uses less water, recycles 98% of the waste generated by production line. The project also provides for reforestation and environmental education programs in the region.
The group is the second largest brewer in the country and sector producer of Crystal brands, Lokal, Itaipava, Black Princess, Petra and Weltenburger, TNT Energy Drink, Premium vodka Blue Spirit Unique Spirit and Blue Ice.
