DPA inaugurates distribution center in Araras

The DPA-Dairy Partners Americas, a joint venture formed by Nestle and New Zealand co-operative Fonterra, opens next Monday its new distribution center in Araras, in São Paulo State.
According to the company, the structure, which is integrated into the dairy factory of DPA in the place, uses technology that increases by 50% storage capacity compared with conventional systems. With the new distribution centre, the DPA will bring together in one place the production, cooling and storage.
Thus, according to the company, the products, which were shipped by truck to the distribution center of Cordeirópolis (SP), will be stored on own unit of DPA in Araras. This will mean a savings of about 150 thousand liters of fuel per year and a reduction of 400 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The DPA sells about 3 billion liters of milk a year, has 14 factories and operates in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Only in Brazil, the company captured almost 2 billion liters of milk in 2012.
