Association will ask the Government to extend the IPI reduced to white line

The National Association of manufacturers of electrical and electronic products (Shower) will formally to the Government next week, extending the duration of the Industrialized Product tax (IPI) reduced to white line items. According to the President of the entity, Lourival Kiçula, the continuity of the measure is key to ensuring good result for the sector in 2014. In 2011, white line's sales grew 10 percent and, in 2012, 20%. This year, may register a fall of 3%.
"Will be asked, is indispensable for the industry," said Kiçula, who, despite the negative result of sales expected for 2013, believes that the white line performed well this year if it is taken into account the high comparison base in 2012. The IPI exemption for these products expires on December 31. Kiçula spoke to the press after meeting of businessmen of the Coalition for competitiveness with the Finance Minister, Guido Mantega.
Comprised of 18 business associations, the coalition Government about converses with strategies for raising the competitiveness of industry. In addition to the power lines, among the present were entities such as the Brazilian chemical industry Association (Abiquim), Brazilian Association of metal construction (Abcem) and the Brazilian Association of machinery and equipments (Abimaq). According to Fernando Figueiredo, President of Abiquim, entrepreneurs discussed the creation of a front to ensure the increase of investments in the country.
