Marfrig leaves profit to loss of r $ 329 million in Q3

SAO PAULO-the global food company Marfrig recorded a net loss of $ 329 million in the third quarter of 2013, compared with profit of $ 10.4 million in the same period in 2012. The numbers are assigned to controlling shareholders, basis for the calculation of dividends.
The net revenue was r $ 4,944 billion expansion at intermission, 14.8% in comparison with the turnover of r $ 4,307 billion for July, August and September of last year. The costs of goods and services sold went up 18.3%, to $ 4,357 billion. Operating expenses were R $ 354,5 million, 15% advance.
The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) totaled r $ 375,2 million in the quarter, down 10 percent. The indicator is set and deletes the effects of other operating income and expenses.
The net result continuing operations was negative in R $ 190,8 million in the third quarter of this year, compared with a profit of $ 96 million a year earlier. The company sold the harvest Brazil and Zenda to JBS.
