Cade approves alstom's purchase of Bombardier

The General Superintendence of the Administrative Council of Economic Defense (Cade) approved the acquisition of unit control by Alstom of bombardier.
The buyer company operates in a diversified industrial group with activities in the construction sectors, real estate, telecommunications and media. Bombardier, on the other, is operating in the aviation and transport industries.
In fiscal 2019, the Bombardier group recorded revenues of R$ 63.5 billion in several countries in which this company operates. As it provides activities in Brazil this operation was notified to Cade.
The antitrust body has found that other companies operate in this sector and that, given this, Alstom will not have more than 20% of the sectors it is acquiring from Bombardier.
"In order to evaluate the possible impacts of the transaction, the General Superintendence considered the estimates of the supply structure of the relevant affected market. In all estimates considered, the operation generated a concentration of less than 20%, below, therefore, the legal level of presumption of dominant position", said this body.
"Given the foregoing, it is concluded by the unrestricted approval of this operation", completed cade giving approval to this business.
