Inspection begins in August

From August, traceability for fruits, vegetables and vegetables becomes mandatory for all links in the food production chain, as determined by INC 02/2018.
The regulations are from the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) and is already valid, since August 2019, for a group of 31 products. This year, the measure will be valid for a basket of 93 items, such as strawberry, carrot, pumpkin, cabbage and mango.
The objective of the standard, according to the Ministry, is to enable supervision and identify the farmer who uses pesticides irregularly. The fine for not following traceability is R $ 2 thousand.
