Microsoft Reactor plans for Latin America

In an online event held on the afternoon of Wednesday, 17, Microsoft launched the first Microsoft Reactor in Latin America, based in Sao Paulo. The initiative is a space for learning and technical sharing, aimed at developers and startups to connect with the local community and develop skills with the aim of fostering innovation in their companies. Reactor São Paulo is the result of a partnership with the District hub, an independent innovation community and startups in Latin America, composed of five technology centers. Initially, due to the pandemic, the Reactor's activities, which involve free courses, training, lectures and workshops, will be held online and taught by developers and startups located in other Reactors around the world (Redmond, San Francisco, New York, Toronto, London, Stockholm, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Bangalore and Shanghai). When face-to-face activities resume, the São Paulo Reactor will be in one of the spaces of the District, the Distrito Adtech building, located in the Jardins neighborhood. "We live in a time when technology retraining and offering training for the developer and startup ecosystem will be even more crucial to support the development of relevant innovations and new business generation in Brazil," said Franklin Luzes,?vice president of operations at Microsoft Participações, during a virtual event. This is not the first initiative that Microsoft launches focused on this ecosystem in Brazil. Last year, Microsoft launched women entrepreneurship (WE), a program to stimulate women's entrepreneurship in the country, and Jornada Empreendedora, created in 2014, which promoted the startup scenario with investments between R$ 500,000 and R$ 3 million in national companies, with support from Banco do Brasil Seguros, Banco BV, Algar, Bayer, and Agência de Fomento do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (AgeRio).
