Highest Growth in 6 Years

The 26 networks affiliated with the Brazilian Association of Pharmacy and Drugstore Networks (Abrafarma) moved R$ 14.32 billion in the first quarter of 2020 - a 15.59% increase over the same period in 2019. The result is the largest increase in the last six years for the period, according to data compiled by the Foundation Institute of Administration of the University of São Paulo (FIA-USP). Generics advanced 16.43% in the period and totaled R$ 1.62 billion. The general sale of medicines reached R$ 9.91 billion, an increase of 19.14% compared to the first three months of last year and non-medicines generated a revenue of R$ 4.4 billion and registered an evolution of 8.31%.
