Taurus opens U.S. factory with $42 million investment

Brazilian weapons manufacturer Taurus today inaugurated the new plant and operations center in the United States with a total investment of US$ 42 million. Located in Bainbridge, Georgia, the country's new headquarters occupies an area of 20,000 square meters and investment covers construction and tax benefits. According to Taurus, the transfer of the headquarters of the U.S. substenude, located earlier in Miami, Florida, will allow to double production capacity in the United States, expanding from 400,000 to up to 800,000 weapons per year. The move will also bring cost reduction and operational, commercial, fiscal and logistical improvements, with the granting of Georgia's state incentives, and consequently increased profitability of the operation. According to Taurus's global CEO, Salesio Nuhs, the new plant is part of the company's strategic growth plan in the international and national market. "Taurus is writing a new chapter in its history. In addition to expanding Taurus's presence where the world's largest consumer market is, increasing our productive capacity in the United States will give greater flexibility to conquer new markets and meet a possible increase in market demand Brazilian," Nuhs said in a statement. For the next five years, the company projects expansion in the engineering and manufacture of taurus, rossi and heritage product lines in the United States.
