Unemployment rate has slight drop, but follows concern

In the three-month period between February and April, 12.9% of Brazilians were unemployed. The index is slightly less than the 13.1% recorded between January and March and 13.6% in the same period to 2017. The indentation in the vacancy rates, however, have not yet signaled improvement in the labour market. Has more to do with the disappointment of many people in search for vacancies. "The market is down because of a economic scenario that does not stimulate. On the contrary, the movement is vacation and people giving up looking ", analyzes Rose Azeredo, IBGE Coordinator. The number of persons employed in April reached 90,733,000, up from 90,581,000 who had work until March and the 89,238,000 who were busy in the three months until April 2017. In the quarter ended April, Brazil registered 13,413,000 unemployed, against 13,689,000 in the first quarter and 14,048,000 in the same period to 2017.
