Sugarloaf reduces packaging with sell in bulk

Part of a series of adjustments that the Sugarloaf has made in their stores, the sales of bulk foods had the side effect of reducing the use of packaging. The network is said to have avoided the use of 18000 packages in the last year by offering bulk items such as grains, dehydrated fruits, chocolates and teas. In 15 stores that offer the service, customers can take their own pots or buy one in time. The Sugarloaf has retired a number of stores and bulk foods are part of an effort to strengthen the area of natural products and perishables, sector that usually generate higher margins for the business.
