Roadway equipment sector growing up than expected in 2018

The roadway equipment sector obtained higher than expected growth in 2018, pulled by heavy segment. Fleet renewal and agribusiness demand are the main factors for the market rally. "Since the end of 2017, we started having requests again. The growth forecast was 20% and, to our surprise, the market grew more above 50%, "says the President of the José Carlos Librelato Spricigo. According to data from the National Association of roadway equipment manufacturers (Anfir), the industry had 53% advance in plates issued in January and October. While the thread of trailers and semi-trailers obtained 80% increment, the body on chassis (light) was 33% higher than the same period of 2017. The President of the Anfir, Norberto Fabris, points out that the year represented only a recovery after the serious crisis that hit the industry over the past four years. "We had a very sharp drop from 2014 onwards. We haven't reached the pre-crisis levels, but it was a positive recovery, mainly in heavy line. " The leader explains that this thread has more aligned with sectors of the economy that are showing good performance, such as agribusiness, while the urban market recovery is slower. The Managing Director of 4Truck, Osmar Oliveira, says the company, more toward the light line, grew up in the market. "We had 100% increase compared to last year. The financing is very important to the sector, it became easier and there was a larger fleet renewal movement. " Due to the crisis, many companies have delayed purchases of new trucks and truck bodies, which created a pent-up demand. "Large companies often renew in three to five years, but many of them no longer do these investments to pay more pressing expenses and the fleet was aging," says Oliveira. He says that the main demands of the light line come from the sectors of medicine and of e-commerce. " There is also a big concern for mobile units, as foodtrucks. " Projections to 2019 Fabris evaluates with optimism the scenario for the next year. "We project a growth of 10% to 15% on 2018, getting closer to a level of market that Brazil has ever had before the crisis." He said the positive Outlook is justified for new good results of the harvest and agricultural construction recovery. "It's an area that could pull the market. We believe in an upturn. " Spricigo hopes that, with the return of the federal Government, there is a movement in the infrastructure sector. "Even with budgetary difficulties, we hope that the work stoppages are resumed. The construction is a sector that needs to come back, the sale to the cement transport is practically not existing. " The Executive also highlights the importance of pension reform. "The new Government came up with this desire. It is essential to provide governance for the next four years. We are optimistic, but with both feet on the ground. " He reveals that there is a demand for companies that, depending on the price of shipping, assess a company's own fleet of trucks. "Consultations are taking place, I believe that the purchases will occur next year." However, Spricigo not sure that this movement will be lasting. "The courts are contesting the price. Let's wait and see. " Oliveira see with good eyes the moving truck automakers for years to come. "The big companies are advertising investments. Our country depends on the transport and believe that the next three years will be strong for the economy. " It also expects a resumption of construction. "It's a sector that demand buckets and open body. Will depend on Government actions to impact the purchase of real estate, but I see that the sector is confident. "
