The basic basket price falls in capital 21

The cost of food in the basket fell in 21 Brazilian cities where the Dieese (Inter Union Department of statistics and socioeconomic studies) conducted monthly, in 2017, the national survey of the Basic Food Basket. The reductions varied between-13.16%, in Belém, and-2.76%, in Aracaju.
The lowest mean values were observed in Salvador (R $316.65), João Pessoa (329.52) and Christmas (R $331.18). However, in December the value of the basket has increased in 14 cities. The most significant were in Recife (1.31%), João Pessoa (1.42%) and Rio de Janeiro (2.78%).
The falls were recorded in seven capitals, especially in Porto Alegre (-3.92%), Curitiba (-1.66%) and Victoria (-0.71%). The higher cost of the set of basic food goods was established in Porto Alegre (R $426.74), followed by Sao Paulo (R $424.36), Rio de Janeiro (418.71) and Florianópolis (R $418.61).

Minimum wage based on the cost of the most expensive basket, which in December 2017 was Porto Alegre, the required minimum wage for a family of four should be R $3,585.05, or 3.83 times the minimum of R $937.00, according to the Dieese.
In November, the minimum necessary corresponded to R $3,731.39, or 3.98 times the current floor. In December 2016, the required minimum wage was R $3,856.23, or 4.38 times the floor which was equal to R $880.00.

The price of sugar fell in all capitals in 2017, with variations between-40.71% (Goiânia) and-16.08% (Brasilia). Throughout the year, the cost of the retail product showed downward trend, due to the retraction of the international price and supply of cane, sufficient to cover demand.
The beans also accumulated fall in every city. The decreases in the value of black beans varied between-39.65% in Curitiba and-32.78% in Rio de Janeiro. The falls were even more significant for the type carioquinha, especially Salvador (-51.98%), Brasília (-51.64%) and Fortaleza (-51.14%).
The value of the pound of beef first fell in 19 cities, with rates that fluctuated between-18.03% in Maceió, and-0.43% in Salvador. The high was verified in São Luís (0.68%) and São Paulo (3.46%).
