PG launches packaging made of recycled plastic and plastic waste in the ocean

The largest consumer goods company in the world, the Procter Gamble & (P&G), announced this month the launch of an innovative packaging produced with 100% recycled plastic, called Fairy Ocean Plastic. The packaging is made with 90% recycled post-consumer plastic and with 10% of plastics from oceans and beaches. With this release, the P&G aims to raise awareness of marine pollution, calling for consumers to participate together, cleaning beaches and recycling the your household waste. Studies show that each year are released in the oceans about of 10,000 tonnes of plastics, due to improper disposition of the material by the consumer.
The bottle will be used for filling washing-up liquid and was created in partnership with TerraCycle recycler. The launch of the Ocean will be in 2018 Plastic Fairy in the United Kingdom with the inclusion of 320,000 bottles on the shelves of markets. In addition, the P&G and other brands will continue to use 8,000 tons of plastic from landfills to produce more than 481 million transparent bottles, containing on average 40% post-consumer plastic.
