Smart packaging warns if person ingested alcohol

The brand of chips Tostitos, Frito-Lay, released a limited edition packaging to warn consumers of the United States that they should not drink and drive: the packaging works as a "breathalyzer".
The packs contain a sensor connected to a microcontroller calibrated to detect small traces of alcohol in the breath of a person. When any trace of drink is detected the LEDs turn red, forming the design a red wheel and the message "If you drink, don''t drive."
If no alcohol is detected, appears a green circle.
The packaging was developed in partnership with the agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
The limited edition Tostitos with "packing Party Safe" ("Safe Party") is part of the marketing activity brand for the Super Bowl, the championship game of American football, one of the most-watched TV events in the United States, which takes place next Sunday, February 5.
The action also has a partnership with the Uber: the packaging offers a code to use the shuttle service with $10 discount on race during and after the game. NFC technology (near-field-communication), consumers can call an Uber just approaching their smartphones packs.
"Our goal is get 25000 cars off the streets on Sunday night," says Jennifer Saenz, Director of marketing at Frito-Lay.
