Franchising has high rated 8.1%

The Brazilian Franchising Association found a nominal growth of 8.1% in industry revenue in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2015-similar to the growth rate registered in the first three months of the year, which was 7.6%. "After 12 months of hard work, with actions such as reducing costs, search for greater efficiency, renegotiate with suppliers and even mix review of products and business models, much of the required adjustment was carried out," says the President of ABF, Cristina Franco. Turnover rose from R$ billion to R$ 32.537 35.180 billion.
Expansion
Considering the first half of 2016, industry turnover varied positively 7.9% and 9.6% units. There was a 3.6 percent expansion in franchising units in relation to the year of 2015, totaling 143,866 units. The variation of the number of units in the period represented an increase of 2,612 new franchise operations in Brazil. "Many networks and entrepreneurs have taken advantage of the best commercially available at points of sale to be positioned for when the economy starts to accelerate," says Cristina.
Growth by category
One of the segments that showed greater growth in the second quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year are: sports, health, beauty and recreation (15%), personal accessories and Shoes (10%), business services and other Retail (10%), laundry, cleaning and care (9%) and Automotive Services (9%).
