Samsung has extended the advantage over its rival Apple in the global market for smartphones in the second quarter of 2016. The South Korean sold Smartphone 77,000,000, 5.5 percent more than in the second quarter of 2015, reaching a market share of 22.4%, IDC research consultancy said. Sales of iPhones already dropped 15% over the same period.
Sony released 42% drop in operating profit in the first quarter, impacted by the effects of the earthquake that damaged one of its key factories of sensors.
