Import of fertilizers registers an increase of 2% in April

The volume of fertilizers imported by Brazil in April increased 2% compared to the previous month. In March 1.56 million tonnes were unloaded in Brazilian ports and in the month of April have been imported 1.59 million tons. The intermediate inputs showed 53 percent high nitrogen, phosphate and potassium the fall of 17% and 27%, respectively.
In relation to April 2015 there has been an increase of 63% in import. In cumulative 2016 were busy at the ports of the country 5.23 million tons, an increase of 25% over the same period last year.
The main port of entry in April was the port of Paranaguá with 61% of the imports of fertilizer, followed by the port of Rio Grande with 11% of the volume and the port of Santos with 10%.
