Cement sales fall in July

Cement sales in the Brazilian domestic market fell 9.3 percent in July, compared with July last year, and reached 5.6 million tons. The preliminary data were released on Friday by the National Union of the cement industry (Snic) and show that the cement imports amounted to 15 million tons in July, a fall of 67% compared to July 2014.
Sales of cement per working day in July were of 225.4 million tons, a decline of 14.7%, front of 264.3 million tons by July 2014 working day and a retreat of 4.2% in comparison with the 235.3 thousand tons per day in June this year.
In January to July, sales of cement in the country totaled 37.9 million tons, a drop of 6.7% compared to 40.7 million tonnes from the first seven months of last year.
In 12 months ending in July, sales of cement amount to 68.15 million tonnes, 3.79% unless the 70.84 million tons of the 12 months immediately prior.
