Financial market worsens GDP forecast for the year and predicts higher inflation

The financial market has revised its expectations for the Brazilian economy and expects a greater decline in GDP (Gross Domestic Product) than last week.
According to the Focus report, a -5.31% change in Brazilian GDP growth is expected by the end of the year. On the last day of August, this figure was -5.28%.
For 2021, the GDP increase forecast of 3.5% was maintained.
Financial institutions consulted by the Central Bank also adjusted the projection for the Ipca (Broad National Consumer Price Index), an index that measures inflation, from 1.77% to 1.78%. The expectation for the price of the dollar was maintained in relation to last week's number, which was R$ 5.25. The Selic rate at 2% has also not changed.
