COVID-19: CoronaVac is more efficient for young people than older people

On Monday (7), it was announced the success of phases I and II of the Chinese vaccine, CoronaVac, from the Laboratory Sinovac Biotech.
The vaccine stimulates immunization in the human body, thus being more effective in adults and young people, who have a strong immune system, unlike higher age groups.
However, the tests performed by the laboratory proved the efficacy for the elderly, but with fewer responses than for young people. In addition, the vaccine had no side effects which contributed to the positive view of such immunization.
Phase III of the procedure has been tested since July in Brazil in a limited and emergency manner through the Butantan Institute in São Paulo, which received 20,000 vaccines, applied in some states in the Midwest and South, according to O Globo.
According to The New York Times, such an immunization is among the 9 vaccines recorded in phase III, the closest stage to use, and advances significantly, as well as the vaccine produced by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Russia, which had early disclosure and efficiency stated by President Vladimir Putin.
Thus, the advance of vaccines against COVID-19 is already providing a favorable overview for the scenario of calamity in the public health of the countries.
However, the perspective of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), brings reality to the press conference in Geneva.
"This is not the last pandemic. (...) History teaches us that outbreaks and plagues are a fact of life. But when the next pandemic comes, the world needs it ready, more ready than it was this time."
Despite the repercussion swell in Tedros' speech, the reality is that history has already marked humanity with bubonic plague, smallpox and cholera. Thus, all these pandemies were fought with knowledge, but highlighted by the negligence of public health and the authorities to citizens.
