A third of Brazilians consider themselves common to be hacked

Kaspersky's recent report More connected than ever: how we establish our digital comfort zones shows that Brazilians are more aware of their digital security, but still need to change their online behavior so that they are truly safe.
The study was conducted in May of this year at the global level and had the online participation of Brazilians with at least two devices connected at home.
Among the main findings, it is noteworthy that 73% of Brazilians who are working from home say they are more aware of their digital security, but 48% of them said they did not change their online habits.
Negligence with cybersecurity originates from three reasons: 45% of Brazilians leave it aside, because life is race, even recognizing that they should pay more attention to it; 36% simply feel safe in conducting financial and business transactions online; and, finally, 33% of Brazilians doubt that they have anything of value to be victims of cyberattacks.
To deal with security issues, almost two-thirds (62%) of Brazilians say they install only trusted apps on their devices, obtained in official stores such as Apple Store and Google Play, and more than half (54%) does security checks regularly on all of them.
Despite this, a dangerous trend also appears for 10% of Brazilians, who admitted to having already used the Wi-Fi of neighbors without their knowledge.
"This year will be marked by how social isolation has accelerated the digital transformation of businesses and people.
Therefore, our goal with the study was to understand how this is affecting our online behavior and what are the new 'digital comfort zones'. But I am not surprised by the low impact that all this had on the habits of Brazilians. We are a very digital people, so much so that we figure among the top 3 users in the main social networks.
The good news is that we are more aware on the subject of digital security. I always say that we can't believe that something new is safe and I hope that this concept will be adopted by more people every day.
To ensure that devices and personal information remain protected on the internet, Kaspersky recommends:
• Pay attention to the authenticity of the sites. Don't go to any pages until you're sure it's legitimate. Look for suspicious reviews and reviews of sites;
• Keep a list of your online accounts to understand which services and websites may be storing your personal information;
• Block the installation of programs of unknown origin in your mobile phone settings and install only apps from official stores;
• Use the "Privacy Checker", which helps make your social media profiles private. Thus, it will be more difficult for third parties to find personal information;
• Use Kaspersky Security Cloud with home network monitoring feature, which sends real-time alerts and warnings to all home devices that are at risk, and detects attackers immediately.
