WestRock creates playful packaging for egg donation

WestRock, in support of the action of its client Ovos Mantiqueira, together with the Abílio Diniz family, created playful packaging for egg donation to needy communities. The donations, which are part of a chain of good, consist of making 12 million eggs arrive with quality and security for communities in social vulnerability in several cities in the country. This means benefiting more than one million families with one of the most important sources of protein, vitamins and minerals. The action, which alone is already impactful, because it benefits so many people, also counted on the creation of a packaging developed by WestRock especially for this action: in addition to transporting the eggs, the packaging will bring more joy and lightness to these families. WestRock has rethought traditional egg packaging and turned them into a box that can be reused as a playful and creative toy. The packaging turns into a little house so that children in the communities can experience lighter moments, especially in such difficult times. To bring even more color and fun, the packaging was printed using HyGraphics WestRock technology. "Our donation is part of a chain of good, because we believe that we all have a role in combating the advancement of the new coronavirus. Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, we are being tireless in seeking alternatives of prevention and control for our people, whether our employees, or society, through our direct actions or supporting initiatives of our customers. The donation of Ovos Mantiqueira benefits thousands of families who do not have adequate access to basic food, and if we can contribute, we will," says Cynthia Wolgien, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at WestRock. To identify and make possible the donation to the most needy families, the action has the support of NGOs, such as: União Rio, União São Paulo, CUFA, Gerar Falcões and Gastromotiva who are doing an important work in bringing companies and communities together.
