Carrefour Brasil Group extends social campaign to combat the pandemic

Reinforcing the initiatives to combat coronavirus, the Carrefour Brasil Group extended until June 15 the Solidarity Purchase campaign, which plans to collect donations from customers and employees. For every R$1.00 donated, the Carrefour Brasil Group will double the amount collected. The campaign is part of the movement announced by the Carrefour Brazil Group in April, which provides for the donation of R$ 15 million in basic baskets to contribute to the feeding of families that are most vulnerable in this pandemic scenario. To date, about R$ 6 million has been donated, which corresponds to 600,000 people benefiting from basic baskets. In addition, more than 100,000 protective masks (disposable, acrylic and fabric) were distributed to the families of employees, health professionals, needy communities and indigenous peoples. Today, the Solidarity Purchase campaign has already accumulated more than R$ 2.9 million, which will be converted into food cards to be distributed by the ngo partners of the campaign to families in vulnerable situations. To continue helping the campaign, the customer can make a direct donation to the cashiers of carrefour stores or through the campaign website. In addition, Atacadão stores are still equipped and receiving donations of food and hygiene products from customers.
