Northeastern industrialists need more help, research shows

The Northeast is the region where industries have most resorted to government measures to cope with the crisis generated by Covid-19. This is shown by research conducted by CNI through the FSB Pesquisa Institute, with 1,017 entrepreneurs from all regions of Brazil. Four out of each group of five northeastern executives have already sought (71%) or still intend to search (11%) assistance in the package of actions announced by the government to help the productive sector to cross the current moment. The second region that has relied most or intends to support itself in the state is the South with 55% of the companies that have already taken this initiative and 12% that still intend to take. Although 82% of industries in the Northeast have resorted to or still intend to resort to government measures to cope with the crisis generated by covid-19, the majority of executives in the region (61%) classifies government initiatives to help businesses as totally or in part insufficient.
